A playful first step into coding with colourful puzzles, simple animations, and teamwork challenges that build logic without pressure.
OverviewJunior Coding Explorers is a 12-class hands-on coding journey where children move from simple instructions to creating and presenting their own interactive coding project.
Class 1 — Meet the Coder: Children discover how coding works by turning everyday instructions into step-by-step algorithms through the fun Human Robot Challenge.
Class 2 — Code a Picture: Children use Code.org Artist to control a character with code, learning sequence, commands, movement and angles while creating their own coded picture.
Class 3 — Pattern Power: Children learn how loops make coding easier and more efficient by turning repeated commands into colourful geometric patterns.
Class 4 — Dance Party: Children explore events, triggers, timing and loops by programming their first interactive dance in Code.org Dance Party.
Class 5 — Dance Party Remix: Children take creative control by remixing their dance, combining events and loops, experimenting with timing and adding their own surprise actions.
Class 6 — Meet Your Characters: Children enter Sprite Lab to create scenes with characters and backgrounds, then use events to bring their characters to life.
Class 7 — Make It Respond: Children learn how programs respond to users by making characters talk, change or react when they are clicked or triggered.
Class 8 — Bring the Scene Alive: Children explore motion and behaviours, programming multiple characters to move and act continuously within an animated scene.
Class 9 — Choose What Happens Next: Children discover choices and branching logic by creating an interactive story where different decisions lead to different outcomes.
Class 10 — Become a Code Detective: Children learn that mistakes are part of coding as they hunt for bugs, test programs, fix errors and retest their solutions.
Class 11 — Build My Interactive Story: Children bring everything together by designing, building, testing and improving their own three-scene interactive story using characters, events, loops and interactions.
Class 12 — Young Coder Showcase: Children test a peer's project, give feedback, improve their own creation and proudly present their finished coding project.
The Journey Ahead
By completing Junior Coding Explorers, children build a strong foundation in logical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, coding concepts and debugging while creating projects they can proudly share—and they are now ready to move forward to our Intermediate Coding course, where they can take their coding skills to the next level through more advanced projects and challenges.
